“It ain’t over.” This mantra has guided Blair Cobbs through his career, and he reiterated it after securing his latest victory. The exuberant welterweight clinched a ten-round decision win over former four-division champion Adrien Broner in their Triller TV Pay-Per-View main event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The judges scored the bout 97-92, 96-93, and 96-93 in favor of Cobbs.
A Promising Start for Cobbs
Broner, who had vowed to fight with renewed vigor, quickly fell back into his old habits as soon as the match began. Cobbs took control early, winning the first round with sheer activity while Broner barely threw any meaningful punches.
In the second round, Cobbs delivered the fight’s only knockdown with a right hook followed by a straight left, sending Broner to the canvas and knocking out a tooth. This jolt prompted Broner to become more active, but Cobbs continued to land the more significant punches.
Maintaining the Lead
Throughout the fight, Cobbs maintained his momentum, using his mobility to both taunt Broner and set up his combinations. His left hand and steady jab proved effective against the former champion. Although Broner increased his punch output in the latter half of the fight, Cobbs had already established a substantial lead.
An uppercut from Broner connected in the sixth round, but Cobbs countered effectively in the seventh, landing enough punches to dislodge Broner’s mouthpiece multiple times.

Broner managed to close the fight strongly, particularly in the final three rounds, where he backed Cobbs into corners and landed some solid right hands and a left hook in the closing seconds. However, Cobbs remained composed, continuing to move and counter while avoiding significant damage.
With this victory, Cobbs improves his record to 17-1-1 (10 knockouts). The win marks his second consecutive victory, following an August 2022 decision over former 140-pound champion Maurice Hooker. This bout was Cobbs’ first since signing with Don King Productions, specifically to secure a fight against Broner.
Broner’s Struggles Continue
Broner, now 35-5-1 (24 KOs), saw his two-fight winning streak come to an end. The former multi-division champion has struggled with inactivity, having fought only three times since his January 2019 loss to Manny Pacquiao. His last victory was a June 2022 win over Bill Hutchinson in Miami.
Future Aspirations for Cobbs
After the fight, Cobbs expressed his desire to face big names in the sport, although he acknowledged that a title shot might not be immediately forthcoming. He also took a playful jab at Ryan Garcia, who had supported Broner.
“I saw something on Instagram. Ryan Garcia was rooting for ‘AB’,” said Cobbs. “That was hurtful because I thought we were boys. But get your girl out of my DMs.
“It’s my time, it’s Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs, the most exciting man in boxing and the People’s Champion. Woo!”

In the co-feature, second-generation heavyweight Michael Hunter II (23-1-2, 16 KOs) dominated Cassius Chaney (23-2, 16 KOs) with a ten-round shutout. The judges scored the bout 100-90 across the board for Hunter, who was the only fighter actively engaging throughout the lackluster match.
